Root Canal Therapy
Dr. Ludlow, Dr. Dr Simone, and Dr. Sharp are proud of their extremely high success rates in root canal therapy. That’s because, at Anna Dental, we use the most modern materials, instruments, and techniques to ensure the success of your root canal treatment. With proper care, root canal treatment usually lasts a lifetime, although on rare occasion, some teeth have to be retreated due to new infections.
Root canal therapy is most commonly recommended when the nerve of a tooth is affected by a deep cavity or infection. Generally, the only other option to root canal therapy is removal of the tooth, though antibiotic treatment can work for a short period. In order to save the tooth, however, cavities are removed and the tooth is disinfected with medicated materials and special dental instruments. The tooth can then be restored to full function – usually with a crown.
Over the years, major advancements have been made in the field of root canal therapy that not only ensure the success of your treatment, but allow it to be performed quickly and without pain. With new anesthetics, patients can now be profoundly numbed. And if you are one of those patients that gets anxious just thinking about going to the dentist – well, we may even be able to sedate you as well. Either way, at Anna Dental, you can be confident that you will be comfortable during the entire process!
